What is Your "Why"? 08/02/2009
What is your "why"? Let me explain a little bit. A "why" should almost be called your "because" I think. Why do I go to the gym? BECAUSE I want to be healthy! Why am I busting my butt at work? BECAUSE I want that promotion. In the world of Network Marketing you must have a "why". For some reason the people outside the MLM world are cocked and ready to fire back at anything we have to say. Having your "why" or "because" will protect you from that BS! Remeber in the movie 300 when King Leonidas ask the warrior who was unable to battle to raise his shield to see if he could protect himself? Leonidas tells the soldier that his shield is part of his body. Your "why" should be your shield! Without it you may put up a good fight, but in the end the end the person you're doing "battle" with will find that opening and go for the kill! "I don't believe in Network Marketing" This was said directly to my face! Excuse me while I put my mouth piece in! I just flew into Las Vegas, on what we call in the airline biz "a turn", when a conversation about real estate broke out with a couple of my crew. One of them was a real estate agent and was talking about her recent showings and other houses for sale in the area. Now as someone in business for themselves, I have a keen sense of hearing for someone else doing the same thing. I've seen many of real estate people also be very successful in Network Marketing. First thing that came to my head was "I would love to have someone like this on my team".....Why you ask? Because of the relationships they have already created. They've built TRUST with many that are spending big money on what could be a life long asset! Thats perfect! Money and Trust! I jump in with my 2 cents and explain to her what I do and how I think she really should check it out. And not my team in general either, just MLM in itself. And here it comes the the kick in the junk! "Oooh, I don't believe in Network Marketing", like its the damn tooth fairy or Santa Claus!! I knew what she was thinking as soon as she said it. She thought that MLM was a scam. Who the hell was she?!? With a smirk I kindly explained how ridiculously UNEDUCATED she was in the matter and that she needed to do some reaserch before she opened her trap again. (Not actually in those words) The point is don't let BS like that ruin your goals. Those people are called "cynics" and you MUST learn to dodge the cynic bullets or they will hurt your buisness badly. Best part was I also mentioned I was in the market for a house....Wow! Did those eyes light up! |
